LISA Full Field Tournament - March 29/30

March is a very busy time in the local soccer schedule. Coming just a week after the World Cups Festival (has everyone registered?) we will have two eleven-a-side games at the LISA Full Field Festival. The festival is hosted by Prospect Lake Soccer Club so there's a chance we might get a game on their new turf field at Layritz Park. Otherwise expect games set for Adam Kerr, Beckwith or Glanford parks.

Our club is entering two teams - gold and silver - with one team playing their games on the Saturday and the other on the Sunday. Expect games roughly 2-3 hours apart. We will be supplementing our team with players from both the U12 Silver and U11 Rebels and will use the weekend to select players for the Gordon Head Jamboree in mid-April.

I'll let you know our game schedule and opponents as soon as I receive it from LISA.

Gordon Head Jamboree - April 11-12-13

This is an eleven-a-side tournament largely played at Lambrick Park and we have entered a team in the U12 Girls Recreational Division. We did not enter the Competitive Division as we were advised by Tournament Organizers that teams in this division are often metro or select teams. Not quite out-of-our league, but certainly the Vancouver metro teams have far more experience playing full field and I really wanted the tournament to be more of a fun introduction to the big field. However we understand that the Recreational Division should be very competitive and that we should expect some very good opposition.

You can check-out some of our potential opponents by going to the Jamboree website (http://www.ghsa.bc.ca/gh_jamhomepage_2008.asp) and clicking on Registrant's Status.
So far teams from Courtenay, Comox, North Vancouver, Vancouver and West Vancouver have registered along with local foes Lakehill and Gordon Head.

We will be selecting fifteen players for this tournament. Players will be selected from those participating at the LISA tournament March 29-30. Registration fees will be $26 per player to cover the $390 tournament entry fee. Fees will be due prior to participation in the tournament.

This tournament will serve as our season wind-up as well, so start working on your ideas for our team party!

No Thursday Practice

Given how hard we ran during last nights game at UVic and how many girls are fighting some sort of flu or cold bug, Thursday practice is cancelled. Far better that we get some rest and recharge our batteries for our game Saturday against Bays United.

Remember: Saturday's game is at Noon - not 11am.
